About Seller: Electric Indicator Company (ELINCO) was established in 1926 in Stamford, Connecticut with the purpose of manufacturing instruments and controls for electric utility companies. During the onset of World War II, the company expanded into the specialty fractional horsepower motor industry and has been designing and producing high-performance precision electric motors in Connecticut ever since. ELINCO relocated to various locations within Connecticut over the years, finally settling in Fairfield and Bridgeport in 2000. In that same year, some of the company's motor manufacturing operations were moved to Asia, while light manufacturing and value-added processes were consolidated in Fairfield and Bridgeport. ELINCO acquired Japanese Products Corporation in 1991, enhancing its salesforce and product offerings with technology from Nidec-Servo (formerly Japan Servo), a global leader in Brushless DC motors. Japanese Products Corporation, founded in 1969 by an engineer from Perkin Elmer, quickly expanded its presence in various markets including Hard Disk Drives in the 1970s and 1980s. The company continued its growth in the 1990s and 2000s across industries such as medical devices, lighting, automotive, and telecommunications. ELINCO JPC, along with its sister company Elinco International, Inc., specializes in manufacturing brushless DC motors and cooling fans, as well as providing value-added services for encoders, gears, gearboxes, controllers, and integrated motion or cooling systems. The company is known for pioneering the development of the Hysteresis Synchronous motor and slotless brushless DC motor technology. ELINCO JPC has a strong presence in North America, Asia, and Europe, with a dedicated team of executives and managers with extensive experience in the motor and air moving products industry. Over the years, the company has acquired General Electric's SELSYN motor line in 1993, the Inertial motor product line in 1994, and a portion of the Philips Airpax motor line in the same year.
