About Seller: Electric Indicator Company (ELINCO) was established in 1926 in Stamford, Connecticut with the goal of manufacturing instruments and controls for electric utility companies. During World War II, the company expanded into the specialty fractional horsepower motor business and has since been designing and producing high performance precision electric motors in Connecticut. ELINCO has undergone several relocations over the years, moving to Wilton, Connecticut in 1962, Norwalk, Connecticut in 1973, and finally settling in Fairfield and Bridgeport, Connecticut in 2000. In 2000, some US motor manufacturing operations were shifted to Asia, while light manufacturing and value-added processes were consolidated in Fairfield and Bridgeport. In 1991, ELINCO acquired Japanese Products Corporation, which provided a significant salesforce for distribution and high technology products from Nidec-Servo (formerly Japan Servo), a global manufacturer of Brushless DC motors. Japanese Products Corporation, founded in 1969 by an engineer from Perkin Elmer, initially focused on selling motors and fans from Japan Servo Company throughout North America. The company experienced rapid growth in the 1970s and 1980s, catering to diverse markets such as Hard Disk Drives by supplying motors for the drives. In the 1990s and 2000s, Japanese Products Corporation expanded into various industries including medical devices, lighting, automotive, and telecommunications. ELINCO JPC's sister company, Elinco International, Inc., specializes in manufacturing brushless DC motors. The company boasts a team of executives and managers with extensive experience in the motor and air moving products industry. With a strong sales network in North America and established relationships in Asia and Europe, ELINCO JPC primarily focuses on brushless DC motors, cooling fans, and value-added operations such as encoders, gears, gearboxes, standalone drivers/controllers, and fully integrated motion or cooling systems. ELINCO JPC is known for pioneering the development of the Hysteresis Synchronous motor and leading the way in brushless DC motor technology with the slotless brushless DC motor. The company holds a strong proprietary and patented position in "slotless" brushless DC motor technology, having produced over 6000 slotless brushless DC motors. In 1993, ELINCO JPC acquired the General Electric SELSYN motor line, followed by the acquisition of the Inertial motor product line in 1994, which was relocated from Doylestown, Pennsylvania to the Norwalk plant. Additionally, in 1994, a portion of the Philips Airpax motor line was acquired by ELINCO JPC.
