About Seller: S.J. Hoffmann, as a young man, recognized the necessity for feed storage systems while constructing silos in Illinois and Indiana. In the early 1940s, he established a concrete stave manufacturing and construction company in Cissna Park, Illinois. A second facility was opened in 1950 in Muscatine, Iowa, which now serves as the main location of Hoffmann, Inc. In response to the growing demand for larger storage facilities, Hoffmann, Inc. diversified its operations in the 1970s to include the construction of cast-in-place reinforced concrete silos. The utilization of the jumpform technique enabled Hoffmann, Inc. to build industrial bulk storage silos for various materials like coal, grain, wood, limestone, kaolin, cement products, fly ash, and water. This expansion also led to the company's involvement in designing and constructing concrete chimneys and steel stacks. In the early 1980s, Hoffmann, Inc. incorporated slipform construction into its capabilities, allowing for the construction of stairtowers, large diameter silos, silos sharing a common wall, and chimneys. By the 1990s, Hoffmann expanded its offerings to include the fabrication of steel components for its projects. A 15,000 square feet steel fabrication facility was then established to supply fabricated steel items to meet the diverse industrial and construction needs of its customer base. Today, Hoffmann, Inc. is under the ownership of Kristin Lee, the great-granddaughter of founder S.J. Hoffmann. Through the delivery of high-quality products, specialized construction services, and personalized attention, Hoffmann, Inc. upholds its legacy of excellence.
