About Seller: Johnson Brothers was founded by Edwin Johnson, Sr. in 1947 when he decided to start his own business. He began by constructing the company's first roll forming machine in his basement, which is now in storage. Edwin offered his five brothers an equal share of the business if they matched his life savings of $700. Only one brother, Harold Johnson, accepted the offer, leading to the establishment of Johnson Brothers. After the first machine was completed and tested, it had to be disassembled, moved from the basement, and reassembled in Edwin's garage. As production increased and neighbors complained about the noise, Edwin had to find a new location. The brothers found an uninsulated garage in Chicago that had previously been a stable, which they converted into a plant. Over the years, Johnson Brothers has evolved from focusing on lockseam and openseam tubing to producing a variety of shapes for industrial use, including sophisticated computer controlled in-line fabrication. Their products, made from various metals in different thicknesses, have been distributed throughout the U.S., Canada, Mexico, and parts of Europe. The company's sales have grown to seven million, with a team of 36 full-time and six part-time employees. Despite challenges from outsourcing in recent years, the future of Johnson Brothers looks promising.
