About Seller: Action Machined Products was established in September 1967 under the name Action Screw Machine Products Company by Edward T. Korndoerfer, also known as "Big Ed." The business initially operated with two pre-World War II screw machines in a 1,500 square foot rented facility in Amityville. Ed primarily worked alone in the early years, occasionally receiving assistance from his two youngest sons during non-school days. The dedication and hard work of Ed, combined with supportive suppliers, enabled the business to survive the initial challenges. In 1971, Ed persuaded his son, Tad Korndoerfer, to join the company, leading to a period of rapid growth and modernization beginning in 1974. As the customer base expanded, additional capabilities were introduced, older machinery was replaced, and a full-time staff was hired. This growth necessitated a move to a larger facility, first to a 3,750 square foot building and then to the current 8,750 square foot air-conditioned location in 1978. That same year, the company made the strategic decision to transition from screw machines to Computerized Numerical Control (CNC) manufacturing. Today, Action Machined Products exclusively utilizes state-of-the-art CNC equipment, enabling access to new markets and the production of more complex products. To maintain our competitive edge, we are committed to fostering an environment that embraces change, continuously improving product quality, and enhancing the skills of our staff through modern technology.
