About Seller: The Arthur I. Platt Company was established by its namesake, Arthur I. Platt, in the early twentieth century, around 1929. During his service in the military in World War II, Arthur I. Platt met William Szoke, who later joined the company after the war. In 1947, ownership of The Arthur I. Platt Company was transferred to William Szoke, Marge Rosza, and Jim Stokes. William Szoke's son, John Szoke, joined the company in 1968 when it was based in Fairfield, Connecticut. John Szoke took over ownership in 1986 and continues to lead the company from its current location in Milford, Connecticut. With the involvement of John Szoke's wife, Peg, and their four children, three generations of the Szoke family have played a key role in the success of The Arthur I. Platt Company.
