About Seller: The History of Gaffrig
In 1984, James Gaffrig, a close family friend and former partner of my father on the Chicago Police force for over a decade, left the force with a talent for producing high-quality, marine-grade speedometers and gauges. He had a vision to establish one of the most esteemed businesses in the boating industry. I joined forces with Jimmy when he launched his initial shop in Chicago in 1984, where he began crafting what are still recognized today as the finest gauges in the field. After successfully introducing these gauges to the market, Jimmy expanded his product line to include Gaffrig mufflers, silencers, flame arrestors, and throttle brackets. Like Gaffrig gauges, these items demonstrated to the boating industry that Gaffrig was synonymous with excellence. Over the years, I collaborated closely with Jimmy to grow the business through unwavering dedication and unmatched craftsmanship. Tragically, in 1992, my dear friend and mentor, James Gaffrig, passed away. I acquired the business shortly thereafter and have been devoted to upholding and expanding the Gaffrig brand with the same level of enthusiasm that James Gaffrig instilled in the company many years ago. Our commitment in 1984 remains unwavering today - to be the premier manufacturer of boating accessories, delivering unparalleled quality, performance, innovation, and service to serious performance boaters. I am committed to ongoing research for new product concepts and enhancing Gaffrig's current product range. Most importantly, I value the feedback of our customers. Your input is crucial to our company's growth, and I encourage you to keep sharing your ideas and suggestions. Wishing you a fantastic boating season! Mike Schultz, President
