The history of Gems Sensors & Controls dates back over 50 years to 1955 when the founder, Edward H. Moore, created a level indicator in his basement, which was patented in 1959. Together with his partner, Gordon Seigle, they founded the Gems Company (GS for Gordon Seigle, EM for Ed Moore). The initial success of Gems came from a bilge switch for the small boating industry, leading to continuous growth in facilities and staff. Today, Gems designs and manufactures a diverse range of liquid level, flow switches, pressure switches, miniature solenoid valves, and pre-assembled fluidic systems. As a division of Danaher Corporation, Gems has manufacturing facilities in North America, Europe, and Asia, with sales, engineering, and service offices worldwide.
