A brief history of Grenzebach: Founded in 1960 by Rudolf Grenzebach in Hamlar, Germany, the company developed the world's first processing system for the float glass production process in 1974. In 1988, Grenzebach Corporation was established in Newnan, Georgia, USA, followed by the first subsidiary in China in 1998. Over the years, Grenzebach expanded its operations through acquisitions and investments, with significant milestones including the acquisition of Babcock BSH in 2002, shareholding in Millennium Control Systems in 2007, and becoming the main shareholder of inos Automationssoftware GmbH in 2010. Sonja Grenzebach-Proeller took over as the main shareholder in 2014, and in 2019, Grenzebach acquired CNUD EFCO GFT. Dr. Steven Althaus assumed the role of CEO in 2020, and in 2021, Grenzebach opened the year-round showroom 365 Days Grenzebach World in Hamlar and established Grenzebach Envelon GmbH as a system supplier for solar-active facades. The company also changed the name of CNUD EFCO GFT to Grenzebach Romania S.R.L. and founded project company GS Engineering GmbH in 2022.
