About Seller: Johnson Bros. was founded by Edwin Johnson, Sr. in 1947, when he embarked on his entrepreneurial journey. He constructed the company's first roll forming machine in his basement, which is now in storage. Offering his five brothers an equal share of the business if they matched his life savings of a $700 investment, Harold Johnson was the one who accepted the offer, hence the name Johnson Bros. The first machine was completed, tested, disassembled, and reassembled in Edwin's garage due to noise complaints from neighbors. Eventually, the brothers, Edwin Sr. and Harold, found a new location in an uninsulated garage in Chicago, previously a stable, and transformed it into a functional workspace. Johnson Bros. has evolved from focusing on lockseam and openseam tubing to producing a variety of shapes for industrial applications, and now utilizes sophisticated computer-controlled in-line fabrication. Their capabilities include forming all types of metals, prefinished or plain, in various thicknesses and shapes, serving customers across the continental U.S., Canada, Mexico, and parts of Europe. With sales reaching seven million and a team of 36 full-time and six part-time employees, Johnson Bros. has faced challenges due to outsourcing in recent years, but the company's future appears promising.
