Following Ralph's passing and Clyde's departure from the business, Helen Garthwait, Ralph's widow, took over the company and successfully managed it during World War II when Ralph's sons, John and Joseph, were called to serve in the armed forces. The history of the Garthwait enterprise is characterized by perseverance, hard work, and a commitment to customer service, resulting in consistent growth over the years.
