The company was founded by engineers and senior managers with previous experience at dbx, Inc., a US manufacturer of audio recording equipment known for developing the Blackmer root mean square (RMS) detector and the Blackmer gain cell, an integrated voltage-controlled amplifier (VCA). Currently, THAT Corporation offers both of these technologies, in addition to other products such as THAT Analog Engines�, which are single-chip audio dynamics processors.
