About Seller: In 1946, an employee of a flour mill in Seattle, Washington embarked on a project to develop a more efficient method for handling bulk flour. After experimenting with various designs, it was determined that a plywood container with a large door on the bottom front provided the most significant advantages. The first plywood bins were installed at a baking company in Tacoma, Washington, where they were filled at the Seattle flour mill and then transported to the bakery for discharging the flour into the batch weighing and mixing equipment. The company responsible for this initial installation was Tote Engineering. Recognizing the success of this system, plans were set in motion to manufacture the bins from metal instead of plywood, leading to the establishment of TOTE Systems. Over the course of nearly 70 years, we have supplied and designed numerous installations worldwide, serving clients in various industries such as Pharmaceutical, Nutraceutical, Food, and Chemical.
